Sidi Slimane: birth of a city in expansion

Everyone knows that the city of Sidi Slimane was born on the initiative of a few colonists, such as Henri Priou, towards the end of the 1920s of the last century (a native even suggested the date of 1926, on the eve of the great world crisis). It served as a center for exporting cereals via the railway connecting Casa to Oujda. This means that the birth of this city is economically linked to colonial production, which had to be transported to the metropolis just as France was preparing to face the effects of the crisis, thanks to the participation of the colonies, including Morocco, which was not quite "pacified" as the historians of capitalism of the time liked to repeat.
